US/Netz: Fantastillionen & kleine Unternehmen

-.-. --.- -.-. --.- -.-. --.- -.-. --.- -.-. --.- -.-. --.-

2 Millionen kleinere US/Unternehmen haben Websites & bauen

NEW YORK, U.S.A., 1998 SEP 9 (NB) -- By Bob Woods,
Newsbytes. In an effort to attract eyeballs - and business -
to their World Wide Web sites, US small businesses are
estimated to spend $4 billion in 1998 on introducing new
technologies to their sites, according to a new report from
Access Media Int'l. (AMI) USA Inc. By 2002, Web site
spending is expected to increase more than 200 percent to
$12.7 billion.

Results from the "Global Small Business Market Assessment
Study" show that small businesses are deploying features
like secure credit card processing, database integration and
site search capabilities to their Web sites to, as AMI put
it, "jump start e-commerce revenues (by) enabling a high
level of functionality."
...
AMI's survey shows about 2 million small businesses have Web
sites. Of that, 600,000 or 30 percent have implemented
secure transaction processing capabilities. By the year
2002, the number of small businesses with Web sites is
expected to more than double to almost 5 million, and those
implementing secure credit card transactions will grow 285
percent to 2.1 million, AMI forecasts.

The AMI report was based on a survey of 1,000 US small
businesses with fewer than 100 employees and located in a
commercial setting.
